What is the cost to attend our school?
The total cost for our 500-hour certification course, including tuition, registration fee, books, malpractice insurance, etc. is approximately $6100.
What time of day are the classes offered?
We offer an evening class that meets M, W, and F evenings from 6-10pm, and a morning class that meets M, W, and F mornings from 8am-12pm..
How long is the course?
We teach a 500-hour course in Massage Therapy. This course is completed in approximately 10 months (not including holidays). It is possible to speed this up somewhat. Please call the school for more details.
Do you offer financing or payment plans?
There are 3 different ways to pay for your schooling at Sierra Massage School:
• Pay everything up front.
• Make equal monthly payments for 9 months.
• Make special arrangements with the director for an individualized payment plan that you can afford. Note: You will not receive your certificate until your account is paid in full. (Call the school for details.). (We may be offering privately funded student loans soon. Please contact the school for details.)
When do the next classes begin?
Our start dates for 2023 are: 1/2/23 and 5/22/23, and 10/9/23. 2024 start dates are 3/11/24 and 7/29/24. It is sometimes possible to start in between these start dates. If you have a need to do this, please call the school for more details.
What type of classes are taught in our school?
Students are primarily instructed in Swedish massage for the 500-hour Massage Therapy course. Swedish massage is the most common type of massage/bodywork in the U.S. This course will also include segments on the following massage techniques: Hot Stone Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Reflexology, Prenatal Massage, Thai Yoga Massage, and Aromatherapy. Students will be introduced to other types of bodywork, but will not be formally instructed in how to perform them.
What is the size of the class?
We have small classes (12 people or less)
Will I be CA state certified after finishing your course?
Yes. Most of our graduates are working locally and doing well. Call for more details about licensing/certification in California.
