Sierra massage school was the perfect fit for me. Reasonable tuition, small class size and lots of real hands on experience.
When I finally decided I wanted to be a massage therapist I did lots of research first on schools in the area. I was so fortunate to come across Sierra Massage School because it was way more affordable than other schools, and more intimate. Steve was gracious enough to meet with me first so I can ask him tons of questions on tuition, tests, procedures, and what I can expect day to day. After meeting with him I knew right away Sierra Massage School would be the place I get my CMT degree from. Right away we began massaging, because that’s what makes you a good Massage Therapist, not text books. Steve does everything in his power to make the class fun, COMFORTABLE, and affordable for everyone. I went to a 4 year university, and I still think the best schooling I got was at Sierra Massage School. If I have any regrets it would be that I don’t go back enough to get massages there. I love what I do, and I’m good/successful because of the techniques I learned from Steve at Sierra Massage School.
Attending Sierra Massage School really helped prepare me for starting my business and working as a massage therapist. Dr. Matthews has an engaging teaching style that really makes you feel like an active participant in your education.
I’ve been a frequent client of Sierra Chiropractic Massage School for the past several years. I’ve been the fortunate recipient of many fantastic student massages through those years and have always felt comfortable and confident in their services, even through several student classes. Steve is always present to guide his students and manages a very competent, professional curriculum. As a medically retired firefighter/paramedic, his students’ work on me is of great benefit as I recover through multiple work-related injuries.
The school was great! The instructor is awesome. Steve makes the class fun and gives you a lot of information. I was working full time plus going through massage school. I really enjoyed coming to class!
Sierra Massage School prepared me to be a qualified massage professional. In less than 12 months I received plenty of hands on training and I was able to own and operate my business after graduation with confidence. My rates are much higher than the average massage therapist and I make a nice living for myself.
I found Sierra Massage School in 2008 during pregnancy. It was a life saver. Steve taught his students many techniques to relax my achy pregnant body. After delivery I kept going back. It’s been 6 years now and I’ve gotten my husband and two daughters addicted as well. You can’t beat the price, and even though they are students they are trained very well and give great massages.
My first full-body massages were out of town, and I was addicted. So in 2001, I asked a friend about a local massage therapist and she referred me to Sierra Chiropractic. Not only did I enjoy the relaxing massages, I knew my body was getting a good workout.
Over the years, I was introduced to the hot stones, deep tissue, pregnancy massage, 1.5 hour massages, yoga classes, and more. As an occasional volunteer for the massage school and charity massage marathons, I have also learned a little more about the muscles, tissue, and bones in the body.
Now, I prefer not to schedule massages from other places or while on vacation. I don’t feel that I am getting the same quality massage as I do at Sierra Chiropractic.
My experience at Sierra Massage School was fast paced and fun. The small class size made it easy to get to know everyone and to learn from them through feedback and observation. Dr. Steve mixed lectures and tests with hands-on massage hours to connect what we were learning to practical use. The class was flexible enough to learn the basics of massage while developing my own technique in a comfortable, relaxed environment.
