What does it cost to attend Sierra Massage School?
The total cost for our 500-hour certification course, including tuition, registration fee, books, malpractice insurance, etc. is approximately $5600
What times of day are your classes offered?
We offer an evening class that meets M, W, and F evenings from 6-10pm, and a morning class that meets M, W, and F mornings from 8am-12pm.
How long is your course?
We teach a 500-hour course in Massage Therapy. This course is completed in approximately 9 months (not including holidays). It is possible to speed this up somewhat. Please call the school for more details.
Do you offer financing or payment plans?
There are 3 different ways to pay for your schooling at Sierra Massage School:
• Pay everything up front.
• Make equal monthly payments for 9 months.
• Make special arrangements with the director for an individualized payment plan that you can afford. Note: You will not receive your certificate until your account is paid in full. (Call the school for details.)
When do the next classes begin?
Our start dates for 2018 are: 1/3, 6/4, and 10/29. The first class of 2019 will begin in late March or early April, but the date has not yet been set. It is sometimes possible to start in between these start dates. If you have a need to do this, please call the school for more details.
What type of massage is taught at the school?
Students are primarily instructed in Swedish massage for the 500-hour Massage Therapy course. Swedish massage is the most common type of massage/bodywork in the U.S. This course will also include segments on the following massage techniques: Hot Stone Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Reflexology, Prenatal Massage, Thai Yoga Massage, and Aromatherapy. Students will be introduced to other types of bodywork, but will not be formally instructed in how to perform them.
What is your class size?
We have small classes (12 people or less).
Will I be eligible to become California state certified after completing this course?
Yes. Most of our graduates are working locally and doing well. Call for more details about licensing/certification in California.
